Our Story

As a child, I always enjoyed being in the kitchen. Having hard-working, entrepreneurial parents is what inspired me to one day open my own restaurant. Every time I went on vacation, the thing I looked most forward to was indulging in the delicious food that Jalisco, Mexico has to offer. That little voice in my head would always pop in and say, “New Jersey needs food like this. I would be able to make a great profit by offering this type of food.”

I attended and received my associate degree from The Art Institute of Philadelphia for culinary. I continued to further my career in culinary by attending the Colegio Gastronomico Internacional de Guadalajara for a few months to specialize in Mexican cuisine. Over the course of ten years, I have worked in various Mexican and Italian restaurants and country clubs. I also seized the opportunity to work at the Wolf Gang Puck restaurant in the Borgata Casino in Atlantic City.

At the young age of twenty-nine, the opportunity of opening my own restaurant presented itself and I seized it. In 2021, I opened ‘El Pacifico’. I decided to open a Mexican, seafood restaurant due to the fact that there are very few places like this in the area. I wanted to bring Mexican culture and cuisine to the area and its people. It’s been challenging but I’m trying out my luck and hoping that El Pacifico continues to bring exactly what New Jersey needs.

De niño, siempre disfruté estar en la cocina. Tener padres emprendedores y trabajadores es lo que me inspiró a abrir un día mi propio restaurante. Cada vez que me iba de vacaciones, lo que más ansiaba era disfrutar de la deliciosa comida que Jalisco, México tiene para ofrecer. Esa vocecita en mi cabeza siempre aparecía y decía: “Nueva Jersey necesita comida como esta. Podría obtener una gran ganancia ofreciendo este tipo de comida”.

Asistí y recibí mi título de asociado del Instituto de Arte de Filadelfia en culinaria. Continué avanzando en mi carrera culinaria asistiendo al Colegio Gastronómico Internacional de Guadalajara durante unos meses para especializarme en cocina mexicana. En el transcurso de diez años, he trabajado en varios restaurantes mexicanos e italianos y campo de golf . También aproveché la oportunidad de trabajar en el restaurante Wolf Gang Puck en el Casino Borgata en Atlantic City.

A la temprana edad de veintinueve años, se presentó la oportunidad de abrir mi propio restaurante y la aproveché. En 2021 abrí ‘El Pacífico’. Decidí abrir un restaurante mexicano de mariscos debido a que hay muy pocos lugares como este en el área. Quería llevar la cultura y la cocina mexicana a la zona ya su gente. Ha sido un desafío, pero estoy probando suerte y espero que El Pacífico continúe brindando exactamente lo que New Jersey necesita.
